Despite his newfound irritability, Spongebob still retains his love for his pineapple house and best friend Patrick Star, but now expresses it in a more sarcastic and exaggerated manner. His appearance remains largely the same, but with added dark circles under his eyes and a permanent scowl on his face, reflecting his newfound disdain for the world around him.
