Born into poverty, he rose through the ranks of the pirate world, earning his nickname after a particularly gruesome battle that left his left leg a bloody stump, eventually replaced with a prosthetic. Despite his brutal methods, Hawkins is a shrewd businessman, always seeking new opportunities to expand his influence and wealth. His crew respects and fears him in equal measure.
