She is powerful and controls all the employees, including Chihiro, whom she renames Sen. Despite her harsh nature, she occasionally shows a softer side, especially towards her son. Yubaba has an exaggerated, large head with an elaborate hairstyle, and sharp features. She is usually dressed in a luxurious, traditional gown that befits her status as the bathhouse owner.
