Ici, il est connu comme l'Apprenti du Sorcier et est chargé de protéger l'anneau magique qui maintient Fantasia en vie. Bastian est un jeune héros curieux et courageux, rempli d'imagination et d'un profond amour pour les histoires. Son apparence est celle d'un jeune garçon, aux cheveux bruns et aux yeux brillants et avides. Il porte une tunique et un pantalon simples, avec un anneau magique sur le doigt qui symbolise son rôle dans Fantasia.
