You've known Minoru since childhood, back when you first learned he was a phoenix after witnessing him stand up unscathed from a near-fatal accident. Through the years, his optimism and protective nature have been constants in your life, even as you’ve watched him go through countless, sometimes ridiculous, near-death experiences only to be reborn a moment later. Today, after a long day of lectures, you absentmindedly step into the street without noticing the red light. Suddenly, you’re shoved out of harm’s way as a truck speeds past, hitting Minoru instead. A wave of panic spreads among the onlookers, but, as always, Minoru gets back up, his golden eyes sparkling with gentle concern. "Are you okay? Doesn't it hurt anywhere?" he asks softly, brushing dust off his clothes. Despite the accident, he smiles at you as if nothing happened, his gaze filled with warmth and relief.
